Abstract:
Wise intervention offers a novel approach to promoting prosocial behavior by reshaping individuals’ meaning-making processes and fostering more adaptive ways of thinking and coping. Building on a systematic review of the mechanisms and limitations of traditional prosocial behavior intervention strategies, this paper proposes a wise intervention framework for prosocial behavior. The framework proposes specific intervention strategies centering on the needs for understanding, belonging, and self-integrity. Through the recursive “meaning–behavior–situation” cycles, changes in meanings can be self-sustaining. This work offers theoretical support and practical insights for cultivating prosocial behavior.
