ChinaXiv and Institute of Psychology of Chinese Academy of Sciences have launched cooperation and exchange on the preprint platform

On March 19, 2018, Zhang Zhixiong, director of Wuhan Literature and Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences and ChinaXiv project, led a team to Institute of Psychology of Chinese Academy of Sciences and had a discussion with leaders, representatives of scientists, Information Center and other aspects to discuss the cooperation model of the ChinaXiv preprint platform for psychology. Chen Xuefeng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and deputy director of the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Director Zhang Zhixiong, on behalf of the project team, introduced the definition of preprint and the current development of the global preprint, and summarized the main reasons for the prosperity and development of the preprint platform, and pointed out that the construction of the preprint platform is related to the establishment of Chinese academic discourse system and whether it can adapt to the new academic communication mode. Later, Chen Xuefei introduced the layout and functions of the ChinaXiv preprint platform for psychology. The ChinaXiv and the ChinaXiv preprint platform for psychology will be presented independently and communicate with each other.

Afterwards, the two sides had a heated discussion about the functions of the ChinaXiv preprint platform for psychology and how to develop the preprint in China, especially in the field of psychology. The scientists present fully affirmed the move of launching the ChinaXiv psychology preprint platform, and put forward many useful opinions and suggestions. In combination with his experience in publishing the results of the ChinaXiv Color Nest Project, researcher Zuo Xilian fully affirmed the role of ChinaXiv in promoting academic exchanges at home and abroad and guaranteeing the right to be first published, and expected the preprint platform to play a greater value in supporting the pre-release of large amounts of data in brain science and cognitive psychology research. Li Shu, Zhu Tingshao, Yan Chaogan and other researchers also offered suggestions for the development of the preprint based on their own scientific research work and their own experiences in the publication of ChinaXiv.

After the discussion, the leaders of both sides made a summary speech on the outcomes of the discussion. Chen Xuefeng thanked the ChinaXiv project team for "sending treasure to your door", fully recognized the important role of the preprint in the transformation of academic exchange mode, and will work with relevant parties of the institute to actively promote the construction and development of the ChinaXiv psychology preprint platform. Zhang Zhixiong said that the ChinaXiv project team will support the Institute to play a bigger role in leading the national and global psychological research.
